This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17/hour. We are open to
providing academic credit for this position where applicable. This is a remote position, but interns
are welcomed and encouraged to work from our D.C. office.

About the Role

Pyxis Partners, a Washington, DC based health advocacy consulting firm, is seeking a Community Engagement Intern to join our team that supports the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program. All of Us is a historic effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States to accelerate research and improve health. Our team’s work is focused on ensuring that the All of Us participant community is reflective of the diversity of the U.S. We do this by reaching, educating and motivating communities historically underrepresented in biomedical research – directly and in partnership with key stakeholders and community influencers - to learn more about the program and enroll. Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings with community partners and prepare follow-up emails including call summaries, action items, notes, slides and recordings

  • Provide support to the engagement team by developing and maintaining/tracking documents of target market activities

  • Support market coordinators in their work to implement engagement and communications strategies in target markets

  • Communicate with external stakeholders (i.e., sending out meeting notes, next steps)

  • Conduct research and draft memos, slides, etc. to support engagement efforts

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or recently graduated

  • Interest in and/or experience with community engagement

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, problem solve, and prioritize competing requests

  • Attentive to detail and committed to delivering high-quality work products

  • Able to work independently and possesses strong organizational skills

  • Able to collaborate and work with a diverse team

  • Strong research skills and ability to present research in a concise way to support community organizations

  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiastic, willing to learn and enjoys a team-based culture
