Senior Associate

Washington, D.C. corporate office, or remote if living out of state.

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remote work on Mondays and Fridays, work from the office Tuesday-Thursday. Business necessities dictate work schedules and occasional nights, weekends, and travel are required.

About the Role

The Senior Associate will focus on special projects and innovation. They are a ‘people person,’ creative thinker, relationship builder, manager and problem solver. As an integral member of a matrix-managed team, this role supports the coordination and administration of project tasks and deliverables across multiple clients. The Sr. Associate will play a key role in supporting cross-functional teams, advancing special projects, and driving internal process improvements. Salary Range: $67,000-$85,000 (Commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of key client and internal initiatives by coordinating deliverables, timelines, and communications across workstreams.

  • Ensure projects stay on track and aligned with organizational goals driving alignment and momentum.

  • Contribute to the development of project dashboards and summaries.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, trackers, and project summaries to monitor progress, elevate issues, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Support the design and delivery of special projects that advance innovation, improve workflows, and strengthen the organization’s ability to scale.

  • Contribute to ideation, planning, and implementation efforts.

  • Create and maintain accurate project documentation using designated tools and systems and promote them throughout the organization.

  • Track key milestones, manage version control, and ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Model a positive, proactive, and adaptable mindset in all interactions that contributes to a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing team environment.

  • Participate in internal initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as needed based on project or organizational priorities.

  • Support budget tracking and utilization across client projects, including monitoring hours, reconciling against forecasts, and collaborating with the CFO to support budget development for proposals and new initiatives.

  • Assist with grants management and proposal development, including drafting narrative content, compiling required materials, and ensuring alignment with funder guidelines and internal priorities.

  • Supporting new business development and firm growth by assisting the team as needed on writing and research for proposals.

  • Promoting Pyxis Partners through a professional network in pursuit of new opportunities and leads.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s a plus) and a minimum of 3 years’ of professional experience and at least 1 year of professional experience in project management or equivalent internship and/or fellowship.

  • Strong preference for candidates that have worked with healthcare, government or non-profit organizations.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Asana, and Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Perform assigned work productively to deliver high quality client and organizational results on time.

  • Developing strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines and deliverables.
