Senior Associate, Engagement

Generally 40 hours per week, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Remote work on Mondays and Fridays,
Work from the Office Tuesday-Thursday. Business necessities dictate work schedules and occasional
nights, weekends and travel are required.

About the Role

The Senior Associate is a ‘people person,’ creative thinker, relationship builder and manager and problem solver. This position will support our work with multiple clients, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program, in efforts to educate diverse communities about research and motivate them to participate with the goal of improving health outcomes. The Senior Associate has experience working with communities that have historically been underrepresented in medical research and will serve in a both a strategy and execution role. The Senior Associate reports to a Director.


  • Serve as a relationship manager to maintain existing and build new relationships with community-based and healthcare provider organizations and influencers.

  • Provide direct support to NIH All of Us Research program partner organizations to support

  • Support team leadership in the development of outreach and engagement strategies and trainings aligned to client priorities with a focus on engaging those who have been underserved and/or historically underrepresented in biomedical research.

  • Support efforts in specific markets across the country to build and strengthen local engagement networks of stakeholders and partners.

  • Develop and maintain project plans and manage specific workstreams for multiple clients.

  • Assist team members in developing client reports about activity and impact by conducting

  • Mentor team members. Promote positive interactions among staff and participates as an active team member. Serve in a “leadership by example”

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s a plus) and a minimum of 3 years’ of professional experience in stakeholder and community engagement with communities that have been historically underrepresented in research.

  • Capacity to think strategically to solve problems, improve or develop new processes and make decisions and recommendations to managers.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience working seamlessly and successfully as part of a fast-paced, matrixed team where collaboration, communication and teamwork is essential.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work products with limited oversight.

  • Ability to effectively communicate the Pyxis Partners value proposition, services, and processes.

  • Bring a flexible and problem-solving mindset to client work that demonstrates thought leadership and improves processes or services.

  • Proven track record of meeting measurable goals to develop and sustain high-level stakeholder relationships.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines and deliverables.

  • Thrive in an agile and adaptable culture that is focused on client, organizational and staff growth.

  • Strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and capacity to think strategically and multi- dimensionally to solve problems and make decisions and recommendations to Pyxis leadership.
