Pyxis Partners heartily congratulates Laphonza Butler, immediate past-President of EMILYs List, on being appointed to fill the late Senator Dianne Feinstein’s seat in the United States Senate. The significance of this appointment cannot be overstated as Senator Butler is California’s first openly LGBTQ U.S. Senator and the first Black, Queer/Lesbian woman to become a U.S. Senator – truly a historic moment and one in which we should all take great pride! As an LGBTQ-owned business committed to inclusivity in all facets of society, we applaud Senator Butler for taking an important step for all of us in paving the way for a more inclusive government and giving voice to women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. Through her work at EMILYs List, which is fully committed to electing democratic, pro-choice women, we recognize the magnitude of her leadership role in this movement, particularly at this time when decisions are actively being made about abortion access nationwide.
